The Meraki Ensemble, formally the Felsen Trio, are a Voice, Clarinet and Piano chamber group. The ensemble members William White (Clarinet), Angharad Kathy Davies (Soprano) and Emma Cayeux (Pianist) are graduates of the Royal Academy of Music, the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama and Wales International Academy of Voice.
As an ensemble, they regularly perform for lunch time recitals across Wales such as the St Donats Arts Centre Cafe Concert Series, and are often engaged in Corporate Event and Functions. In 2017 the Meraki Ensemble were selected to join the Music in Hospitals and Care Scheme.
As individuals, the members of the Meraki Ensemble have performed with the likes of BBC National Orchestra of Wales, Welsh National Opera, British Sinfonietta, The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, Mid Wales Opera and Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra, to name a few.
Brought together by their mutual love of chamber music and desire to explore and extend the voice, clarinet and piano repertoire, the Meraki Ensemble are committed to performing staple works for their combination as well as championing new music.
As an ensemble, they have a wide and ranging repertoire. Performing the great original classical repertoire for their instrumentation along with more contemporary and popular works. They perform arrangements including pieces from the Gershwin songbook, popular jazz standards and traditional folk repertoire as well as operatic arias. Their recitals encompass both full ensemble pieces as well as duo items.
