Soprano Angharad Kathy Davies is a graduate of the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama where she was generously supported by the the Mosawi Foundation, The Winship Foundation, Mario Lanza Education Trust, and Hartsheath Charitable Trust. During her postgraduate studies Angharad was awarded the Mansel Thomas Memorial Award and Worshipful Livery Company of Wales Music Award.
Recent operatic highlights include Susanna, The Marriage of Figaro (Somerset Opera), Une Prestesse & Oenone, Hippolyte et Aricie (Ensemble Orquesta, Grimeborn Festival), Soloist, Summer Opera Gala (Mid Wales Opera), 1st Witch, Dido and Aeneas (Mid Wales Opera) and Chorus, Tosca (Abu Dhabi Festival with Sir Bryn Terfel, Kristine Opolais, Vittorio Grigolo and Sinfonia Cymru conducted by Gareth Jones). Upcoming roles include Shepherd Boy in Puccini’s Tosca with North Wales Opera (October 2019) and Genevieve in Louis Mander's opera The Dowager's Oyster which will be performed in Cheltenham Playhouse Theatre in September 2020.
On the concert platform Angharad has recently performed as a young artist in Aurora Festival Stockholm's Schubert and Strauss Lieder Concert and she has performed the Flower Duet from Delibes’ Lakme with the RAF Massed Voluntary Bands in Symphony Hall, Birmingham.
She has appeared as a soloist with the British Sinfonietta, Ammonford Choral Society, Athenaeum Singers, Cwmbran Male Voice Choir, The Harry Ensemble, Reading Festival Chorus, and Cor Bro Ogwr.
Angharad performs regularly with her chamber music ensembles; Hiraeth Ensemble and Meraki Ensemble. The Meraki Ensemble are Music in Hospitals and Care Artists.
